Sunday the 16th September we have arranged a trip to LEGOland in Billund, Denmark. This trip is optional, its a full day trip and its your opportunity to bring your family or spouse to a fun and relaxing day following the conference.
The price for the trip is 835 DKK (approx 112 EUR, 151 USD).
Please note: The trip to Legoland will only take place if enough people sign up. This will finally be decided on August 20th.

Billund is the city where the Lego company was originally founded.
LEGO was started by Ole Kirk Christensen in the beginning of 1930's. To begin with they produced wooden toys, but in 1949 they bought a machine that made the now famous plastic bricks.
The name LEGO is made up of the Danish words "LEG" (play) and "GODT" (well). In latin LEGO means "I put things together".
The original LEGOland theme park was founded in 1968. LEGOland is Denmarks largest tourist attraction outside of Copenhagen. It has more than 1.6 mio. playfull guests every season. LEGOland contains more than 50 fun activites.
The heart of LEGOland is called Miniland and it is the whole world in mini format. Miniland is made up of more than 20 mio. LEGO bricks and it contains more than 11.000 lights in the houses!
Use the day to explore the theme park on your own. Maybe you want to play around in the LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Center or program your own ride in the Powerbuilder.
The bus leaves from Copenhagen outside the hostel at 7 am in the morning. It is a 3-4 hour bus trip (250 km) from Copenhagen to Billund, so make sure to bring a small tour pack with water and maybe something to read for the trip.
At 11 am we arrive at LEGOland theme park, and you are on your own. There are several cafe's and restaurants in LEGOland where you can have your lunch.
In the evening at 18 pm we meet back at the bus. After a short ride we will arrive at Aagaard Kro, where a delicious buffet awaits us. Aagaard Kro is an old "Kgl. Priviligeret Kro" inn from 1777. It is one of Denmarks best dinning places and has an authentic atmosphere.
After a wonderful dinner and a hopefully a fantastic day the bus will drive us back to Copenhagen at around 21 pm. We will arrive back at the hostel around midnight.
